Customer Concerns

The Questions Buyers Need Answered

Industrial quality is not defined by appearance alone. Customers need evidence that the product is suitable, traceable, tested, and properly documented.

Is the Material Correct?

Material markings, certificates, heat numbers, and specified verification records support material traceability.

Will the Product Perform?

Applicable pressure, leakage, set-point, operational, dimensional, and functional checks support product acceptance.

Is the Documentation Complete?

Drawings, datasheets, certificates, inspection records, test reports, and manuals are checked against the agreed scope.

Will It Arrive Safely?

Final inspection, preservation, marking, protective packing, and shipping checks help reduce transportation risk.

Quality Process

Quality Control Across the Order Lifecycle

Inspection points are defined according to the product type, technical specification, purchase order, and approved quality plan.

Stage 01

Contract Review

Technical requirements, materials, standards, testing, documentation, inspection points, and delivery conditions are reviewed.

Stage 02

Incoming Inspection

Materials, components, certificates, dimensions, quantities, and visible condition are checked before production.

Stage 03

In-Process Control

Machining, welding, assembly, coating, internal components, and key dimensions are inspected during manufacturing.

Stage 04

Final Verification

Testing, operation, marking, documentation, preservation, packing, and release status are verified before shipment.

Material Control

How Do We Confirm the Material?

Material control begins with the purchase specification and continues through receiving, identification, manufacturing, assembly, and final documentation.

  • Review the specified body and internal materials
  • Check supplier material certificates where required
  • Verify heat numbers and material markings where applicable
  • Inspect dimensions and visible material condition
  • Maintain identification during production
  • Perform positive material identification when specified
  • Match final records to the supplied product

Inspection Plan

Typical Quality Control Points

The final inspection plan depends on the product, standard, application, and customer requirements.

Inspection Stage Typical Check Customer Concern Addressed Possible Record

Certification & Compliance

How Do We Handle Certification Requirements?

Certification is confirmed product by product. A company certificate, product certificate, test report, and material certificate serve different purposes and should not be treated as interchangeable.

Quality management certificate

Management System Certification

Confirms the certified organization, management-system scope, issuing body, and certificate-validity period.

Industrial product compliance certificate

Product Compliance

Confirms whether a specific product, model, pressure range, material, or manufacturing scope is covered.

Material test certificate

Material Certification

Provides material grade, heat-number, chemical composition, mechanical properties, and traceability information where required.

Certification or Standard What Customers Should Confirm Supply Basis
ISO Certified company, management-system scope, issuing body, certificate number, and validity Provided when covered by a current verified certificate
CE Applicable directive, product category, conformity route, and declaration scope Confirmed according to the specific product and destination
ATEX Equipment category, zone, gas or dust group, temperature class, and certificate scope Available only for products covered by applicable documentation
SIL Device function, safety assessment, configuration, assumptions, and supporting report Confirmed for the applicable product and safety function
EAC Product description, technical regulation, applicant, manufacturer, and validity Confirmed according to product type and destination market
API or Other Product Standards Exact standard, edition, product scope, manufacturing requirements, and test acceptance criteria Specified and agreed before production

Important: Certification marks should only be displayed when the certificate is current and the supplied product is within its verified scope.

Industrial project quality documentation

Documentation

Will the Final Document Package Be Complete?

The required document package should be defined during quotation and order review. This prevents missing documents from delaying approval, inspection, or project handover.

  • Approved product datasheet
  • General arrangement drawing
  • Certificats d'essai des matériaux
  • Inspection and test plan
  • Quality assurance plan
  • Dimensional inspection report
  • Applicable pressure or functional test reports
  • Coating or surface-treatment records where required
  • Installation, operation, and maintenance manual
  • Packing list and shipping documentation

Inspection Participation

Can Customers or Third Parties Witness Inspection?

Customer and third-party inspection can be coordinated when the scope, timing, acceptance criteria, and commercial conditions are agreed before production.

Document Review

Review approved drawings, datasheets, quality plans, material records, procedures, and test formats.

Witness Inspection

Attend agreed inspection or testing activities at defined witness points in the inspection plan.

Remote Inspection

Review photographs, videos, markings, dimensions, test results, and documents when remote inspection is agreed.

Inspection Point Meaning Typical Action
Review Point Documents or records are submitted for review Production may continue according to the agreed plan
Witness Point The customer or inspector is invited to witness an activity The activity proceeds according to the agreed notification terms
Hold Point Work does not proceed without the required release Written release is required according to the approved plan

Nonconformance Control

What Happens If an Issue Is Found?

When an inspection result does not meet the agreed requirement, the issue should be identified, controlled, evaluated, corrected, and reverified before release.

  1. Identify and record the nonconforming condition.
  2. Separate or clearly control the affected product.
  3. Review the technical and quality impact.
  4. Define correction, repair, replacement, or disposition.
  5. Obtain customer approval when contractually required.
  6. Repeat the applicable inspection or test.
  7. Close the record before shipment release.

Packing and Delivery

How Are Products Protected for Shipment?

Final quality continues after testing. Products, accessories, documents, and identification must remain protected during handling, storage, and international transportation.

  • Clean and inspect products before packing
  • Protect flange faces and open connections
  • Apply preservation suitable for the shipment period
  • Secure actuators, accessories, and loose components
  • Use appropriate export packing where required
  • Apply clear case marks and product identification
  • Check quantities against the packing list
  • Record packing condition with photographs where required
